Just maple sap, transformed into pure maple syrup. Milligan’s Maple Syrup is a family-owned producer crafting 100% pure maple syrup in small batches using traditional wood-fired evaporators—no added ingredients, just the rich flavor of real maple.

Founded by the Milligan family in Ohio, the company has grown its maple operation while holding onto the things that matter: careful production, artisan quality, responsible forest management, and a commitment to more sustainable ways of doing business.

Pour it over pancakes and waffles, swirl it into oatmeal, sweeten your morning coffee, or reach for it whenever a recipe needs a little real maple sweetness.

One Ingredient. That's It.

Real maple syrup doesn't need much explaining.

Maple sap.

That's the ingredient list.

The sap collected from maple trees is concentrated into syrup, developing the distinctive caramelized, woodsy sweetness that makes pure maple so different from conventional pancake syrups.

Milligan's doesn't add other sweeteners or ingredients to its pure maple syrup. What goes into the bottle comes from the trees.

From Tree to Bottle

Milligan's Maple Syrup began in 2014, when Kevin and Mike Milligan started the family business at the encouragement of Jana Milligan—because, as they put it, moms know best.

Their Athens, Ohio maple operation includes one of the state's larger certified family sustainable forests, where approximately 2,500 maple taps are managed as part of the family's original sugarbush.

In 2024, Milligan's expanded into additional maple operations in Middlefield, Ohio and Edgar, Wisconsin, bringing its combined maple taps to nearly 20,000.

The expansion also gives the family greater geographic diversity as changing weather patterns affect maple harvests.

Still Wood-Fired

Even as the family business has grown, Milligan's continues to produce its pure maple syrup using wood-fired evaporators rather than conventional oil- or gas-fired systems.

At the family's Athens farm, the evaporator is fueled exclusively with wood from trees that have naturally fallen on the property.

The Athens operation has also incorporated solar power since 2022, adding another renewable energy source to the family's maple-making operation.

It's a combination we especially appreciate: old-fashioned production methods paired with thoughtful modern sustainability practices.

More Than Pancakes

We certainly won't argue with pouring it generously over a stack of pancakes, but pure maple syrup deserves more time outside the breakfast table.

Try it:

  • Over pancakes, waffles & French toast

  • Swirled into oatmeal or yogurt

  • In coffee or tea

  • Drizzled over roasted squash or sweet potatoes

  • In salad dressings & marinades

  • For baking

  • In cocktails & mocktails

  • Over ice cream

  • Anywhere you'd like a little rich maple sweetness

Meet the Milligans

Milligan's Maple Syrup is a family-owned and operated business founded in 2014 by Kevin and Mike Milligan at the encouragement of their mother, Jana.

What began as an Ohio family maple operation has grown to include sugarbushes in Ohio and Wisconsin, while the company continues to emphasize small-batch production, traditional wood-fired evaporation, responsible forestry, and consistent artisan quality.

Their maple syrup has since found its way into restaurants and farm-to-table partnerships around the country—including right here in Arkansas.
